Cycloid series

Of the many photographic expressions, nothing is more moving than the act of condensing time with super-second exposure. What is stationary exists only quietly, and moving objects drastically change their morphology. The lump of iron is softly distorted like melted wax, and the light that cannot be grasped clearly records its trajectory as if to prove the existence of a moment.

This statement is a passage from the Light Sea series released in 2011. Since then, he has been producing and presenting works for 11 years with the keywords of long exposure and light.

In the "Cycloid Series" to be announced this time, the Christmas illuminations bought online during long-time exposure are rotated horizontally and vertically using a self-made rotating device that uses a motor and a gearbox. I tried to draw a pseudo-light cycloid (perpendicular line). The cycloid shows the locus that one point on the circle passes when the circle is rolled, but it was confirmed that various cycloids can be drawn by changing the ratio of the gearbox and rotating it at high speed or low speed.
