Tokkuriran resistant to drying

Good morning. Today's foliage plant series is Tokkuriran. I saw a picture online and fell in love with it at first sight and bought it. The most distinctive feature is the roots shaped like a tokkuri and the countless thin leaves that grow from them. When I looked up how to grow it, it says to water it when the soil is dry, but it's hard to tell when it's dry because it's covered with something like white gravel. So far I've been relying on my senses and watering about once a week. This Tokkuriran photo was taken during a cloudy period when the sun was shining temporarily. I can't wait to see how it grows from now on.
